MY usp....
I am an enthusiastic young and bright independent worker with a flair for writing and a strong willingness to learn. A skilled communicator with four years media experience and a broad understanding of public and national affairs. Able to anticipate problems and suggest solutions.
Work is my main priority and my motivation ensures that I complete tasks efficiently and with care. I am very organised and sophisticated within myself and my work. I am punctual, hardworking and always prepared to work under pressure and to deadlines.
... AND THEN JUST ME
I was born and grew up on the Island of St Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean. On an Island of just 47 square miles it's easy to dream of bigger and better things but, being an Island girl at heart I channeled my ambitions in to learning more and striving for the best that I could be on an Island virtually in the middle of nowhere.
I started my career as Editor of one of two Island newspapers bringing the paper to life with my young and enthusiastic energy. But being bright eyed and bushy tailed soon wore off and I found myself wanting to play a part in the Island's future and get stuck into Island affairs - after two years in the media I moved to Government public relations acting as mouthpiece between St Helena Government and the public. A challenging role is building the people's faith in government but one that I enjoy and grasp with both hands.
The role has taken me to the UK in various placements in Government Press Offices, including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department for International Development. Below is a photo of me meeting the Minister of State for International Development, Alan Duncan.
I am currently studying. via distance learning, a Masters in Media, Communication and Public Relations alongside my normal employment. When I do have some free time I love to spend it reading, cooking, socializing with friends and spending time with my family.
